happy 2016!!
i really hope this new year is off to a good start for you, dear reader. i’m hoping your first days of 2016 have met you with a pep in your step, some hustle in your day, and a smile on your face.
if not, then i’m there with you. today is my confessional…
i’m tired.
i can’t seem to find anything extra in my deep downs. not in a concerning way, but just in an honest kind of way.
i shamefully haven’t even yet announced the birth of my sweet, lovely, perfect, new baby girl here on my site yet. she’s amazing and i love her. and i was waiting to do something very cool to tell you that she’s here! alas… best laid plans…
another new home, another new baby, mommyhood to three under 7, a very busy daddy… it’s all wonderful, but it is equally exhausting and unfortunately i feel this site is what gives.
my creative juices are sapped. but i haven’t given up. i still have dreams. and i still think about delicious things i want to make and share with you when i’m up at night feeding and re-tucking in tiny ones. it’s just that when the sun rises my brain goes blank. i’m learning about myself, that there are times, especially in these winter months and in new places, that i roll up and tuck in tight. like a momma bear cuddling her cubs close to keep warm during hibernation.
i’m just asking for your patience with me, dear reader. i’ll be back, i know. hopefully in full force, ready to get up to speed on all of the zillion social media outlets and sharing that blogging is demanding of us these days (or maybe not). in the meantime i’ll continue to post too, a few times a month.
i just needed to vent and share and be honest with myself. in this world where you can dream big and hustle hard, it’s also wise to show yourself grace and give yourself a moment to be…
